Art organizations and nonprofits provide support, resources, and networking for artists. They are a necessity for emerging artists and provide professional legitimacy for seasoned artists. The artist organizations listed below are just a few of the many artist-centered groups that are available in the San Francisco Bay Area, but they are ones that I have personally benefited from over the years.
I cannot emphasize enough that these organizations help establish professional identity, networking, promote sales and support and encourage interpersonal and creative direction. Some of these are regional and others are national.I’ve learned we all share similar fears and desires…that is, to be heard and seen. Art is one way in which to do exactly that.

The 2022 Collective is the inaugural group of artists, hand selected from a large number of applicants. This collective is organized, managed and promoted by Jen Tough Gallery from July 2022 - January 2023, and includes representation at Artexpo Dallas, Red Dot Miami (during Art Basel week), and works for sale on Artsy among other benefits.
Art Pod
Through innovative, experiential and virtual explorations of art, science, culture and technology, Art Pod Org creates space for positive impact and experimental STEM/STEAM education establishing centers and events for the public including underserved communities.
Art Table – ArtTable is the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women’s professional leadership in the visual arts. We serve women at all stages of their careers, with a special effort to increase diversity in the arts professions.
East Bay Open Studios
Open Studios are free self-guided tours of artist studios and exhibition spaces throughout the East Bay (Alameda County and Contra Costa County) in over 12 different cities.
Media Art Works (MAW) – Media Art Works aims to strengthen the East Bay’s independent film and video community through screening and networking opportunities.
