Small Abstracts is a continuation on the series, Squares. Squares contained many small, abstract pieces to complete a larger composition. With these works, I chose the size 8” x 8” square format to express an individual idea or feeling. Using color, shape, and line I reference a memory or describe a mood. These abstracts are also a way in which to play and explore various design elements. Often, these small works lead to larger pieces and more developed works based around a motif or visual theme or to express more deeply a particular intention.
