& LIMITED EDITION FINE ART PRINTS
A monotype is one image made using a press. Ink is applied to a plate, and then paper is placed on top of the plate and as it is rolled through a press the ink is transferred to the paper.
A monoprint is one in a series and uses an etched plate, linoleum or wood block or stone. The ink is added to the etched plate and the paper that is placed on the etched plate picks up the area where the ink has settled into the etched drawing. Monoprints have a set number of prints and they are numbered when the series is complete.
“Imaginarium Aquarium is a limited-edition fine art print or giclee. This is the closest possible replication of an original artwork. This process uses pigment-based inks, archival paper and a wide format inkjet printer. The paper is acid free and archival meaning that it will not brown or decompose the way some papers would. Only five prints were produced so it is considered a limited edition.
